Medieval Banquet Weekend - £115 all inclusive

It's a great weekend away whether travelling on your own or with a group of friends. Enjoy a 4 course banquet with wine and entertainment at Cardiff Castle.

Hotel accommodation is based in ensuite twin share rooms on Saturday night

Join us for a relaxed and entertaining evening in the historic suroundings of the Undercroft at Cardiff Castle. Dating from the 15th century the Undercroft is one of the oldest parts of the castle lodgings. You will be welcomed into the bar with welsh Mead, a traditional drink from Medieval Times before taking your seats in the Undercroft Banqueting Hall for an evening hosted by Nosweithialu Bute-iful Nights, traditionally costumed hosts will serve your meal and keep you entertained with a selecton of traditional and contemporary songs in both English and Welsh, all accompanied by a harpist. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear Welsh language at it's most poetic and in this most atmospheric of settings.

Throughout your four course dinner, wine or soft drinks will be served (included). There is a pre pay bar also available for pre dinner drinks.

Oak-smoked Llyn back bacon filled with Penclawss laverbread and oats, with balsamic and apple chutney.

Traditional Welsh Cawl

Pembroke chicken breast filled with caerphilly cheese, wrapped in Carmarthen ham and cAriad wine cream sauce. Carrots, brassica vegetables and minted Pembroke potatoes.

Tenby cream, fruits of the forest coulis & Danzy Jones flavoured custard.

ITINERARY

Saturday: We will depart from Bressenden Place at 8 am and make our way to Wales. We will make a stop at Chepstow Castle (£4.50) that has for centuries guarded the border between England and Wales. Then it is on to our hotel on the outskirts of Cardiff where you will have the chance to relax, swim and perhaps have a sauna (some hotels do make a small charge for use) before departing for our evening at Cardiff Castle. (coach will return to hotel after the banquet but feel free to visit one of the many Cardiff/Swansea night clubs and make your own way back to the hotel) Hotels in Cardiff and Swansea used on this tour.

Sunday: A lazy morning after your banquet, enjoy a morning swim and leisurely breakfast. We will depart at about mid day and head into Cardiff where you will have time to explore this fascinating city, visit the Millenium Stadium (£5.00), Cardiff Castle (£6.00). We head away late afternoon for our return journey to London.


INCLUDES: Return coach travel, services of driver/tour manager. Twin/double share accommodation, Welsh Banquet at Cardiff Castle, Excursions as per intinerary but no entrance fees are included. Those travelling on their own will be allocated a twin room to share with another single traveller.

WHAT TO BRING: Smart casual wear for the banquet, no jeans or trainers, your swimming gear for the sports centre.
