Heading North from Central London we travel to medieval York. Visit the awesome Gothic Cathedral (England's largest), the Medieval city walls and the sights and the sounds of the amazing historic city centre with a full walking tour of York.
Experience the Yorkshire Dales and try local Wensleydale cheese (Wallace and Gromitts favourite!). Marvel at Aysgarth Falls, an amazing stepped cascade of water, and take a dip in Haydraw force, the highest, unbroken waterfall in England (film setting for Robin Hood Prince of Thieves).
Time for some Medieval Mayhem as we approach our Amazing Castle in the Yorkshire Dales. over 700 years old, once home to Mary Queen of Scotts.
We get you dressed up in some great medieval costumes(supplied) and sit you down for a hearty Medieval feast with music, wine and a real log fire!



Avoid being locked in the stocks with our organised games and experience a spine chilling ghost walk by candle light......

On Sunday we explore Robin Hood’s 450 acre Sherwood Forest including the Major Oak followed by a chance to try the perfect compliment to any medieval experience - a spot of archery. Competitions for best archer with great prizes to be won!

This tour only runs once a month so book up early to avoid disappointment


Archery is an optional activity and costs £6.00 per person.

Departs Central London selected Saturdays at 7.30am and returns 8pm on Sunday.

What's extra? Your kitty - which covers your castle stay / castle breakfast and evening castle feast, fancy dress cotumes, ghost walk, games and waterfall entrance (click <here> for kitty costs). The only items not included are your spending money, lunches and optional activities.
 
NB there are always free alternatives. 

Where does it leave from?  International Students House - 229 Great Portland Street. Directly opposite Great Portland Street tube station, (Metropolitan, Circle, Hammersmith and City Lines) or is a 2 minute walk from Regents Park tube (Bakerloo line) or Warren Street tube ( Victoria and Northern lines).


What should you bring?
Suitable clothes for all weathers, swimwear, towel, camera and big smiles! During the winter months the castle gets very cold so bring extra thick pajamas and a wet suit if you want to swim in the waterfall!

The castle has limited facilites for washing and is not set up like a hotel. It is in its original form. Accommodation will be beds and matresses supplied with pillows and sleeping bags (like camping in a castle) its a lot of fun and a real experience you will be talking about for years to come!
